A popular bar has announced it will close after its Halloween Party this week prompting sadness from its regulars.

The Library Bar in Aylesbury will close after its Halloween Party on Friday, November 1, the bar's owner announced on social media.

Formerly Temple Street Wine Bar, the town-centre site is run by Aylesbury mum Samantha Fraser and serves up a range of cocktails and craft beers.

In a post on Facebook, she explained that the closure is due to personal reasons and thanked staff for their work.

Samantha said: "It's been a hell of a ride, but we're calling last orders for good on Friday, Nov 1st. Our Halloween Party.

"This place has been more than just a bar. It's been our home, our hideout, our little slice of heaven.

"We've laughed, cried, and probably puked here. So, let's send this beauty off in style!

"To everyone who's been part of this mad journey - you're all amazing. You've made this place what it is."

The announcement was met with sadness from regulars with around 400 people reacting to the social media post.

One customer, Ruth Taylor wrote: "A lot of memories made here, those I will cherish and some more to be made Friday.

"I don’t think anyone can say thank you enough to make up for the space you’ve given people.

"The love you’ve shared to those within this space and the care you’ve given to us."

Another social media user, Matas Mykolas Mažas, wrote: "Truly one of the best, if not the best, space in Aylesbury.

"And I say "space" because it's not just a bar, a venue, or any ONE of the things that it becomes during the week, at the weekend, and for special events.

"You have created something really special, diverse and truly meaningful to a huge number of people in a really short space of time. You did that, and much much more."

Samantha previously said the launch of the bar was a 'dream come true' after it opened on May 21, 2023.

Announcing the closure, she added: "Anyone who's spoken to me knows the love I have for this place, how much I wanted it, how much I'd dreamt of it, and how much I wanted it to be the place everyone felt comfort, felt security, and where they wanted to go time and time again.

"I think I achieved that, for the time it was there anyway."
