Hare coursing is the pursuit of hares with greyhounds and other sighthounds, which chase the hare by sight, not by scent.
Although both poaching and hare coursing were popular in Britain in the past, it is now illegal and classed as animal cruelty.
In other countries, including Spain, Ireland and the Western United States, it is a regulated and judged, competitive sport.
