Six roads in Marlow will be closed at various points this weekend – as runners hit the streets for an annual half-marathon event.
Marlow Bridge and The Causeway will be closed between 9am and 9:45am on Sunday, November 3, while participants in the Marlow Half-Marathon lace up their trainers and prepare to ring in autumn with the "muddy but scenic" local race.
Following the winding path of the gaggle of runners, the High Street, West Street, Oxford Road and Chalkpit Lane will then be closed to drivers from 9:15am to 10am.
And Pound Lane, close to the race's finish line at Marlow Sports Club, will be the stretch most impacted by the reliably popular event, with a closure in force from 10am until 1pm.
A managed crossing point will also be in operation on Henley Road near the Pound Lane junction, upping the traffic risk between 10am and 1pm.
Roads around the town are annually closed to ensure the safety of joggers, who traditionally don various degrees of fancy dress to take on either the full 13-miler, the shorter Marlow 7 or the newly-introduced Frankenstein multi-terrain course, named in honour of one-time Marlow resident Mary Shelley.

The Frankenstein route was introduced last November, with first-time runners describing the 10km race was "fun and freaky" and – thanks to its pretty Chiltern Hills surroundings – pretty muddy too.
The half-marathon is organised each year by the Marlow Striders running club alongside a host of local sponsors and all three routes take competitors through the town centre and around local countryside before leading them back to a makeshift 'race village' on Pound Lane.
Entries are still open for the event, which kicks off on the bridge at 9:30am on Sunday. Click here for more details.
