Several fines were issued to motorists who were caught speeding in Chesham.
In the evening of Saturday, October 26, officers were deployed to several areas of the town after residents raised concerns about excessive speeds being reached.
Officers from Thames Valley Police were stationed along Berkhamstead Road, Bellingdon Road, Asheridge Road and St Marys Way.
In total, 25 drivers were dealt with and seven fixed penalty notices were given.
The roads in question are 30mph, but some were clocked at going between 40 and 45.
Other crimes that were recorded in Chesham that evening included a motorist caught driving without insurance, and another who failed to stop for the authorities despite being instructed to do so.
The police’s presence came after one Chesham resident told its respective Neighbourhood Watch officers that they were looking for speeders ‘at the wrong time’, and that they should ‘do it in the evenings’.
This led to numerous motorists being fined for speeding in the town on Saturday night.
