Extra officers have been deployed to several rural areas of Amersham following several reports of anti-social behaviour.

In the evening of Friday, October 25, members of the forces were located Hodgemoor Woods, Botterells Lane near Chalfont St Giles and Coleshill after unwanted actions from members of the public were spotted.

Thames Valley Police said that ‘officers will continue to pay passing attention to the area.’

Whilst the nature of the anti-social behaviour hasn’t been specified, a ‘don’t drop litter’ sign was left by Bottrells Lane to remind those in the area to not discard their waste illegally.

In recent weeks, parts of the Chalfonts have been badly impacted by fly-tipping.

A man from Surrey was fined just over £4,000 after cameras caught him dumping large amounts of waste along  West Hyde Lane.

He committed the crime in June 2023 but was only penalised for his actions in October.

In addition to this, numerous trash was dumped in the woodland but the memorial grounds in the village earlier this month.

It was reported to Buckinghamshire Council via Fix My Street, and was cleared several days after being notified.

An investigation is currently underway to find those responsible.
