Drivers are being warned to avoid the M40 between High Wycombe and Stokenchurch while lanes are closed for roadworks.
The northbound motorway will be closed between junctions 4 and 5 from 10pm to 5am from Monday, October 28 to Saturday, November 2 for "essential surfacing works".
The same travel restrictions will be enforced on the southbound stretch between Wycombe and Stokenchurch the next week, from Monday, November 4 to Saturday, November 9.

Buckinghamshire Highways has warned local motorists to plan their journeys around the scheduled works, which have been allocated commuter-friendly timeslots to minimise disruption.
The council's road management arm also said diversion routes would be clearly signed during the closure periods.
