Elf the Musical, based on the hit film, will be performed at the Swan Theatre in High Wycombe from November 19 to 23, with special guest star playing Buddy.
The stage show will feature Santa's flying sleigh, an audience snowball fight, and a giant candy cane journey from the North Pole.
The scenes will be set against video-film backdrops on a large LED screen.
The show will have a large cast and live orchestra, and will star Jordan Conway as Buddy the Elf, who was played by Will Ferrell in the film.
The comedian and actor has previously played Charlie Chaplin in the comedy play Laurel and Chaplin-The Feud in London and Los Angeles, and Peter Pan opposite Boy George in a tour of JM Barrie's Peter Pan.
Mr Conway said: "Elf is always one of the most popular holiday films and Buddy the Elf truly is an iconic character, one I am incredibly excited about coming home to bring him to life on stage at the Swan.
"This is the first time this hit show has toured theatres but it’s always great to be back on familiar territory and to be able to get home to my own bed each evening.
"We promise a heart-warming and hilarious night out with great special effects.
"One of the best sights is the audiences dressing up for the show, especially the dads in Elf Christmas sweaters. This is an unmissable treat."
The cast also features Kelly Benlaki as Buddy’s love interest, Jovie, and Barry Bloxham as Buddy’s long-suffering dad.
The show is produced and directed by Jon Conway, for The World’s Biggest Productions Limited, an adaptation of his Arena Spectacular tour version of Elf.
Last year Jon Conway produced Peter Pan An Arena Spectacular.
It has a book by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan, and an original score by Tony Award nominees Matt Sklar and Chad Beguelin that has been a hit with audiences both on Broadway and at the West End.
The show will be performed at 7.30pm from Tuesday to Saturday, with matinees at 2.30pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Tickets start at £28 and can be purchased at Elf the Musical's website.
