The headteacher of a Wycombe School that has been named one of the best in the world has praised the ‘achievements of pupils and staff’ for its most recent accolade.
Conducted by The Schools Index by Carfax Education, the organisation has labelled Wycombe Abbey as one of the top 150 private schools across the globe.
The index, which is in its fifth year, labelled the establishment at the bottom of Marlow Hill in the top 25 Senior schools in the UK, describing the experience at the establishment as a ‘close-knit and supportive community’ in which their students can forge ‘life-long friendships.’
The school attracts numerous students from around the world, and the headmistress, Mrs Jo Duncan, said she is ‘delighted’ with the recognition.
Speaking to the Free Press, she said: “I am delighted that Wycombe Abbey has been named one of the world's leading independent schools in the Schools Index by Carfax Education.
“This is recognition of the outstanding achievements of pupils and staff inside and outside the classroom and of the overall strength of our school community.”
This year's Schools Index has been curated by experts, with each school notably recognised for its own individual footprint in education, including academics, facilities, preparation for university entry, unique ethos and how they prepare students for life beyond academia.”
