A 1930s Beaconsfield mansion, designed by John Campbell, is now on the market for £10 million.

Known as Drummers Yard, the home was among the first in the UK to receive listed status.

Campbell's vision materialised in 1938 when he built the house for Mr Rissik.

The structure is distinguished by its whitened brick, Cornish slate roof, and unique chimney stacks.

Its architectural style is a blend of a Scottish castle and an Italian villa, reflecting the high water mark of the Arts and Crafts movement.

The house, originally named Birchens Spring, holds significant architectural value due to its traditional features, including catslide roofs and brick arches.

Campbell's design philosophy was to ensure that each room had at least two garden elevations, making the house light, bright, and airy with remarkable views of the gardens.

Despite his immense talent, Campbell remained relatively unknown compared to his contemporaries, Sir Edwin Lutyens and Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

This is largely due to his career in Germany that halted his work's public exposure.

However, his designs, including Drummers Yard, are now recognised as a unique blend of German and English influences.

The property comprises an entrance hall with a brick and stone arched ceiling, a sun room with sliding doors onto the terrace, and a circular dining room.

A corridor, adorned with murals of Hyde Park, leads to a study with a mini kitchen and mezzanine.

The house also features a drawing room with tall windows and a pyramid fireplace, a kitchen by Swedish designer Sola, and a butler's pantry.

The first floor, originally a staff wing, now serves as guest accommodation with a bedroom suite, child's bedroom, family bathroom, and a main guest bedroom with an en suite bathroom.

The house also includes a master bedroom with an en suite dressing room and bathroom, and a children's bedroom in the tower.

The property, set in 12 acres of landscaped gardens, includes a two-car garage, a gym with a sauna and steam room, a tennis court, and a two-bedroom cottage.

Its location offers excellent accessibility to London, Heathrow Airport, and Northolt Private Airfield.

Amenities include top-tier schools and a regular fast train service to London Marylebone.

The property is also near the picturesque riverside towns of Marlow and Henley-on-Thames.
