Police have arrested two people for poaching near woodland in Little Marlow.
The offenders were caught by officers in Thames Valley Police’s Marlow Neighbourhood Team on Friday, October 18.
They were found poaching on land near Winchbottom Lane in the village, which is east of central Marlow, and were arrested by members of the local force.
A vehicle that was being used in the illegal practice, which can include hunting without landowner permission and using traps and snares, was also seized.
It comes after a poacher from Wiltshire was fined £1,000 for trespassing on private land in Little Marlow back in January.
30-year-old John Cooper pleaded guilty to daytime trespass in pursuit of game at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court in April after being caught in the village with ball bearings.
The offence is included in Thames Valley Police’s categorisation of wildlife crimes alongside animal cruelty, coursing and hunting with dogs.
Anyone with information about poaching in their area can contact the police by making a report online, calling 999 if the crime is active, or anonymously calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
