The co-owner of a café/restaurant that specialises in Middle Eastern and South Asian food was urged residents to ‘show their support’ for local business.
Omer Arshad, who runs Time Out along Desborough Road, opened the business in May 2023, with the eatery being well-received by locals.
It currently boasts a score of 4.9/5 from 62 Google Reviews, with many customers praising their customer service and dishes.
The mainly focus on treats and meals from Pakistan, which caters to the town’s large South Asian population, but they do get clients from all different backgrounds.
Speaking to the Free Press, Mr Arshad said: “We offer something and we cater to everyone.
“People are curious to try new things and we all love eating food, and sometimes we want to try something different.
“We get people from all backgrounds coming in, and it’s nice to people trying something new.”
When asked about the importance of the local community using independent shops, cafés and restaurants, he continued: “That is massive.
“We do this for the community and in order for us to grow, we need that support.
“When people come back, they are helping us out, and we can help them by not only giving good food, but only provide top quality customer service.
“We want them to spread the word, and that’s a huge part in helping us grow.”
Planning for the opening of Time Out had been in the pipeline for several months, as the business owner noticed ‘there was a need’ for a café of its kind to be based along Desborough Road in the town.
The main reason in terms of its location was to help those who fancied getting Middle Eastern/South Asian treats without venturing into the centre of High Wycombe.
It has proved to be a popular hit, and with the business priding itself on its customer service, the owner hopes they can attract new clients through the door.
Mr Arshad continued: “High Wycombe does have a huge Middle Eastern and South Asian population, and we considered that, as we wanted to bring a taste of Pakistan for the people in the town, and the surrounding areas,
“All the food we have is made fresh on a daily basis, so it’s never pulled out of a freezer and made.
“That’s where I think, a lot of our customers appreciate it because puts us aside from other businesses who might do that.”
Unlike most independent cafes, the business is open seven days a week.
