Wycombe residents have voiced their opinions about what they want to see in the town centre, after the arrival of new shops including an indoor karting centre, a new Tesco's Express and a fourth Greggs store.

Michael J Dix said: "It makes no difference what we locals think or want. The powers that be will do what they want."

Many residents are calling for a return of shops that have closed over the years.

Lesley Weston stated: "Bring back all the clothes shops that have closed, bring back our town. No more food, coffee shops."

Matt Ross continued this sentiment, by commenting: "Open ones not closed down or boarded up. High Wycombe is a dump now nothing lie it was in the 80s and 90s."

Barry Styles said: "Can we go back in times to when we had Murrays with a cafe upstairs and Percy Prior music shop in White Hart Street."

Others have expressed a desire for diverse shops.

Holly Rachel Haynes mentioned: "Itsu, flying tiger, Zara."

Gemma Shinh asked for: "Whole Foods, Tiger stores, Wasabi, Uniqlo, Gail's, good quality fishmonger and butcher."

While Joan Heybourn called for more traditional shops, saying: "Traditional butchers, bakers, greengrocery. A small department store for needle crafts and knitters."

The sentiment among residents is clear: they want to see a wider variety of retail options.

Debbie Gomme remarked: "The range would be good smyths toy shop," indicating a need for more family-friendly stores.

As High Wycombe continues to evolve, the community is left wondering what the future holds for its shopping scene.
