A cocktail bar that opened in Chesham this summer has been given its first food hygiene rating.
Vault 17, which is based along the town’s High Street, have been awarded a score of five out of five by Buckinghamshire Council, who inspected the premises on September 19.
Following their check, they gave the new business in the town a ‘good’ rating for their food hygiene and safety, their structural compliance and their confidence in management.
The cocktail bar, which has an outdoor kitchen, replaced the former HSBC bank at number 17, and has been met with rave reviews by locals and customers.
Despite opening only at the start of July, the business has attracted many people from all over the town, and has gained several positive testimonies online.
At the time of writing, Vault 17 has an average score of 5/5 from 10 Google Reviews – the highest rating possible.
One reads: “A lovely new space along the High Street, and it’s just what Chesham needs.
“Great drinks, menus and wine lists and a great team.
“Everyone is very friendly and welcoming, and fantastic live music events as well.
“Can’t wait for the next one.”
Another review, which was written at the start of the month, said: “Had the absolute privilege of going again to vault 17 again last night.
“Went a couple of weeks ago and had a great time.”
The customer also said that the establishment is ‘just what Chesham needed.’
The kitchen can serve dozens of al fresco diners at outdoor tables in a new garden area, which transforms the existing courtyard.
The new garden has also benefited from shrubs and timber fencing that will support climbing plants to provide privacy in the outdoor area.
Additionally, the interior of the former HSBC bank has been fully refurbished to create Vault 17, which will boast a demountable stage area.
Images on the business’ Facebook page show that the building society is now completely unrecognizable, with the premises now being turned into a venue for entertainment.
Additionally, as well as alcohol being sold for consumption on the premises, bottles of wine and spirits will also be available for customers to take away.
The business also provides regular music events with live bands – these have also proven to be a huge hit with customers.
Taking to social media when they opened, a spokesperson from Vault 17 said: “We can't wait to share our passion for exquisite wines and innovative cocktails with all of you.”
