A High Wycombe store that specialises in outdoor equipment and clothing will ‘close down’ in the coming months.

Blacks Outdoor Retail, which is based inside the Eden Shopping Centre, confirmed the news earlier this month and is currently selling all of their products with a 30 per cent discount.

The closing down sale will be valid until January, which is when Blacks will leave the town.

However, the Free Press can confirm that the outlet will be ‘rebranded’ as GO Outdoors Express (Go Outdoors for short).

The two businesses are both owned by JD Sports, and the new shop is expected to open at the start of 2025.

This is part of the company’s long-term plan to launch several GO shops across the country with areas such as Chester, Huddersfield, Halifax, and Horsham all having the new outlets introduced since the start of 2023.

High Wycombe is also expected to join that list in a couple of months.

Blacks will remain open until the opening month of next year, with the shop having an average score of 4.1/5 from 142 Google Reviews.

One review, which was shared on the site three weeks ago reads: “Superb store and friendly knowledge staff.”
