Police are searching for seven men spotted using nitrous oxide on Marlow High Street after the drug was outlawed last year.
The group of men were caught on CCTV inhaling the ‘laughing gas’ drug outside the town's Sainsbury’s Local at around 10:30pm on Friday, October 4.
Following a ban introduced in November 2023, possession of the class C substance can result in an unlimited fine, community punishment, a caution and – for serious repeat offenders – a prison sentence.
Anyone with information about the incident on October 4 can contact community officer Chris Bis directly at christopher.bis@thamesvalley.police.uk or call 101 quoting reference 43240478242.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Heavy, regular abuse of nitrous oxide poses significant health risk for users including anaemia and, in more severe cases, nerve damage or paralysis.
“It has (also) been identified as having potentially fatal consequences on the UK’s roads from incidents of drug driving.”
