The restaurant is now under new management and reopens 18 months after it suddenly shut in 2023.

Many questions were raised as to why the restaurant had stopped trading, with the previous owner, a gentleman called Egg, being described as a ‘brilliant manager’ who made everyone feel welcome.’

However, it is believed that the business owner, who also had restaurants in London and Brussels, sold Eat Thai to facilitate a move back to Thailand.

The rumoured return to his native country was allegedly motivated to be closer to his family.

The establishment is now under a new manager, with the current boss, a gentleman called ‘Art’, telling the Free Press he is ‘excited’ at the prospect of running a restaurant in the town.

He said: “I own several restaurants in London, one of which is frequently visited by celebrities and footballers.

“That’s called Nua, and were recently nominated for the 2024 Restaurant World Luxury Award, and we’re currently waiting to see if we have won.

“So this is exciting for me as it’s a new challenge.

“I had never been to High Wycombe before, so I have spent the last two months exploring the town to see what it’s like, and I love it.

“I’ve also been to places like Beaconsfield and Marlow which are also great.”

When asked why people should visit the new look restaurant along Easton Street, he added: “If you like Thailand, you’ll love our Thai food!

“All of our food is authentic and we care what our customers think.

“We also know that it’ll take a couple of weeks before we get going.

“I have learnt that from experience and hopefully people love our food.”

Art’s arrival in High Wycombe comes with a popular reputation, as one of his restaurants, boasts an average score of 4.5/5 from 123 Google Reviews.
