A four-star hotel in North Buckinghamshire has been named company of the year at an awards show dubbed the ‘Oscars of local business'.
Horwood House Hotel in Little Horwood near Milton Keynes scooped three titles at the Buckinghamshire Business Awards in Aylesbury on Wednesday, October 9.
The hotel, set on a 38-acre estate near Bletchley Park, picked up Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure Business of the Year and Company of the Year at last week's ceremony – with managing director Karim Kassam also getting a nod in the Business Leader category after five years at the helm.
Sharing the news with visitors, a spokesperson for Horwood House said they were “beyond thrilled” by the honour, which “reflects our unwavering dedication to delivering exceptional experiences”.
They also thanked “our incredible team and valued guests” for their contributions and support and gave Mr Kassim a shout-out for his equally “incredible” leadership since coming on board in 2019.

Among other award winners – all judged by a panel of independent judges based on factors including commercial performance, growth and innovation – were the Logiscool Coding School, for New Business of the Year, Ashridge Care Home, which won the Community Champions Award and Starpeak Insurance Solutions, named best Growth Business.
Philippa Batting, managing director of Buckinghamshire Business First, said: “This year’s awards have once again demonstrated why Buckinghamshire is known as the entrepreneurial heart of Britain.
“The calibre of the finalists and winners was truly exceptional, and we are proud to celebrate their achievements. The judges had an incredibly difficult task but every business that made it this far is a true testament to the strength and innovation of our local economy.
“The awards would not have been possible without the generous support of the category sponsors and media partners, including Bucks Radio, Cerub PR, CUBE, Evolutional International and Your Print Solution.
“Thanks also go to our reception sponsor, Red Helix, trophy sponsor, Widmer End & District Funeral Directors and flowers sponsor, Neverending Flowers. Their commitment to fostering business growth and excellence in Buckinghamshire is integral to the success of the awards each year.”
Buckinghamshire Business First is a community focused on the best interests of new and established businesses across the region that was founded by 10 entrepreneurs in 2011 and has since grown to a network of over 15,000.
