A Beaconsfield pizzeria has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.

Due Forni has been named as one of the 16 finalists in the 2024 National Pizza Awards - making it one of the best pizzerias across the UK.

The restaurant, located in Windsor End is in the running for the top accolade thanks to its 'Ragu Pazzo' pizza.

The annual event, which is organised by Dine Out Magazine, will take place in London on November 12, where the winner will be announced.

Genna Ash-Brown, editor of Dine Out Magazine, said: "We say it every time, but that’s because it’s true – entries for the National Pizza Awards came in thick and fast this year, making the shortlisting process more difficult than ever and the calibre of competitors more exciting than we’ve ever seen before."

The competition will see the shortlisted restaurants take part in a live cooking showdown to decide which business offers the UK’s best pizza.

In addition to a signature round, which determines the National Pizza of the Year, the event will see pizzaiolos take part in a technical challenge where they must create the ultimate pizza from a selection of sponsor ingredients, to claim the Pizza Chef of the Year title.

This year will also see the introduction of The Alternative Slice Award, given to the competitor who puts together the most delicious and outstanding dish from a range of free-from products.

The winners on the night will be decided by a hand-picked panel of expert industry judges.

Ms Ash-Brown added: "Narrowing it down to just 16 was never going to be easy, but lo and behold, we have our line-up and it could be the best one to date.

"It’s always a pleasure to see friendly faces return and warmly welcome new names into the heat of the action – not to mention the introduction of a brand-new award this year, too.

"All that’s left now is to fire up the ovens and watch the competition take flight."

Due Forni will be up against other finalists from across the UK, including restaurants in London, Glasgow, Cardiff, and Cambridge.

These include Ace Pizza, Bad Boy Pizza Society, Crust Bros, Homeslice, Pizzaface, and The Woodyard.

The annual National Pizza Awards is headline sponsored by Birrificio Angelo Poretti, and sponsored by Britvic, Conglom, Cooks & Co, Jestic, MFP Pizza Flour, and Schär.

The winner of last year's National Pizza Awards was Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana, which has restaurants in Birmingham, Nottingham, London, Liverpool, Sheffield, Manchester, Leeds, and Sale.

Alongside these awards, Due Forni has also been shortlisted to the finals of the PAPA Awards after having been selected for three out of four categories.

The PAPA Awards will take place on the 7th of November whereas the national pizza awards will be on the 12th of November in London.
