A date has been set for when a Thai restaurant will reopen in High Wycombe.
Eat Thai, which is now under new ownership, had planned to officially unveil itself to the public on Friday, October 11 – roughly 18 months after it suddenly closed.
However, the Free Press understands that due to ‘issues with the internet’, the launch has been delayed.
It is now expected to reopen on Monday, October 14.
The establishment, which is situated on Easton Street, has been regarded as one of the best Thai restaurants in the town.
It currently boasts an average score of 4.7/5 from 495 Google Reviews, whilst on TripAdvisor, it has an average rating of 4.5/5 from 530 testimonials.
But the business suddenly closed in the Spring of 2023, raising questions as to what happened to its previous management.
It had been owned by a gentleman called Egg, who proved to be a popular hit with customers as he was known for ‘making everyone feel welcome’.
However, it is believed that the business owner, who also had restaurants in London and Brussels, sold Eat Thai to facilitate a move back to Thailand.
The rumoured return to his native country was allegedly motivated to be closer to his family.
The restaurant’s new owner, who guys by the name of Art, told the Free Press: “We were due to open on Friday but that’s not going to happen because of issues with the internet.
“So we aim to open on Monday and we’re very excited.”
