Chiltern's bookshops have special guest line up for customers this October.

Sarah, Duchess of York and Mary Berry are both expected to make an appearance at Buckinghamshire bookshops, as part of the annual Bookshop Day celebrations.

The Duchess will be signing copies of her new children's picture book, 'Flora and Fern: Wonder in the Woods' on Saturday 12th October, between 11am- 12.30pm at the Gerrards Cross Bookshop.

The bestselling author and philanthropist will be making the appearance for Bookshop Day, which was created by the Booksellers Association to 'choose bookshops.'

The association aims to promote bookshops as 'more than just a retail space for books,' encouraging customers to start their Christmas shopping early.

The association expect 1,000 bookshops across the UK to take part in 2024's Bookshop Day.

The Duchess is a Sunday Times and New York Times best-selling author, who has published over 70 books.

Her works include 'Budgie the Little Helicopter' which was adapted into an animated series on US Primetime Fox, and 'Tea for Ruby' which debuted at the top of the New York Times bestseller list.

Tickets for the event start from £12.99 and include entry to the book signing, and a copy of her latest novel.

Mary Berry will also promoting her newest book, 'Mary's Foolproof Dinners,' at the King's Church in Amersham, 3pm Sunday 20th October.

The famous TV cook will be chatting with guests about the 120 brand-new, recipes which accompanies her latest BBC series.

Tickets for the event are £10, and can be bought from the Chiltern Bookshop website.

Gerrards Cross bookshop has been open for 35 years, and was reopened by famous children's author David Walliams in July 2023.

The store underwent a a major transformation, and reopened as part of 2023's Independent Bookshop week.
