Rail passengers travelling from London’s Marylebone and High Wycombe tonight have been hit with delays and cancellations - due to a herd of cattle.
The unruly rabble of cows has managed to get onto the line between Gerrards Cross and Denham Golf Club, causing numerous trains to be delayed or cancelled.
A spokesperson from Chiltern Railways said: “Unfortunately, we do have cattle on the line between Gerrards Cross and Denham Golf Club so lines are still blocked. Services are severely delayed or cancelled due to services not being able to pass safely. Thank you for your patience.
“The aim is to move the cows but there are currently 16 on the track and just a driver. We are awaiting help but this takes time.”
The disruption is having a significant affect on journeys beyond High Wycombe, impacting those heading further on to Oxford and Birmingham.
According to National Rail disruption is expected until 20:30 this evening.
