A Paralympian awarded a prize to the three-millionth visitor at a leisure centre.
Para dressage rider Mari Durward-Akhurst was the star guest at the Chilterns Lifestyle Centre’s open weekend celebrating its three-millionth visitor.
The centre- which opened three years ago in December 2021- has seen over a million visitors in the facility each year since.
The Ms Durward-Akhurst, fresh from winning a bronze medal at the Paralympics, joined the celebrations to mark the milestone.
Residents Zoe Pinn, Bella Pinn, Jane Bancroft, and Gemma Bancroft were the lucky customers who walked through the doors as the facility reached the significant figure.
In recognition, the Paralympian presented them with a prize hamper.
Ms Durward-Akhurst also participated in a meet and greet with the community, discussing her summer experiences.
She said: "It was fantastic to show off my medal to so many people and to share my love of para dressage and my experiences at the Paralympics.
"Thank you for all the super questions I got asked, and it was lovely to meet you all.
"I’m sure I met some future Paralympians and Olympians."
James Sexton, general manager at Everyone Active, said: "It's a huge achievement to have welcomed our three millionth visitor."
The leisure centre, operated by Everyone Active in partnership with Buckinghamshire Council, also organised a range of £1 activities to raise money for Breast Cancer Now.
These included badminton, pickleball, and Zumba, as well as Clip n Climb and soft play for children to enjoy.
Chesham Leisure Centre and Chalfont Leisure Centre also joined the celebratory weekend.
