Amersham won gold in the recent Bloom awards ceremony whilst also picking up the best town in the region.
Over the past few months, members of the council, as well as green-fingered volunteers gave up their time to spruce up the area with fresh plants and ornaments, to give Amersham that welcoming feeling.
Taking place each summer, members of the public spend weeks at a time planting numerous flowers across the area, to make sure those passing through south Buckinghamshire can enjoy a fair amount of vibrancy.
In addition to this, the town is also judged by the ‘In Bloom’ inspectors.
The official inspection took place at the end of September, with Amersham taking the top spot.
A brief post on the Amersham Town Council’s Facebook page reads: “These awards are a testament to the hard work of so many, including businesses, schools, Bucks Council and other community groups.
“But of course, it is the partnership between my tirelessly committed colleagues at the Town Council, the wonderfully talented Andy Honour and the Leaders of the 1st Chesham Bois Scout Group and the dedicated, and brilliant bloom volunteers, who offer unwavering support, that makes Amersham so special.”
