The daughter of U2 frontman Bono has recently been spotted in a Princes Risborough fish and chip shop.
Eve Hewson, 33, was in the central Buckinghamshire town as part of a new show called ‘Downforce’, which recorded parts of its pilot episode in the Thames Valley.
On Monday, September 30 and Tuesday, October 1, runners, directors and producers were seen in the area, where they used the town’s Princes Fish & Chip shop along Market Place for one of their scenes.
The film crew cordoned off that section of the street, but this didn’t stop residents and pedestrians from gathering in the pouring rain to see some scenes get shot.
A video obtained by the Free Press on the morning of October 1 shows two actors (one being Hewson and the other being Australian performer Murray Bartlett), getting out of an old car before walking into the chippy.
This take was done several times, as buses and cars passed through Church Street and onto the High Street.
It has been revealed that the filming is for a pilot episode for a comedy show called ‘Downforce’.
According to IMBD (Internet Movie Database), the programme focuses on an heiress to a racing team who is thrust into the family business.
She needs to decide the future of the team and her family's legacy.
If the pilot episode is successful, it will be commissioned for more episodes.
One local told the Free Press that residents were ‘given letters about the filming’ as ‘roads would be shut’ because of the filming.
Once the crew left Risborough, they moved to Silverstone to continue with their filming.
If the show goes ahead, it will be a big coup for the town as Hewson and Bartlett have had successful acting careers.
For Hewson, she has starred in several movies such as ‘This Must Be the Place’ with Sean Penn (2011), ‘Enough Said’ alongside Julia Louis-Dreyfus and the late James Gandolfini (2013), ‘A Bridge of Spies’ with Tom Hanks (2015), ‘Robin Hood’ with Jamie Foxx and ‘Tesla’ alongside Ethan Hawke (2020).
The actress has also appeared in numerous TV series such as ‘The Perfect Couple’, which aired on Netflix in September of this year.
The show starred Nicole Kidman and received positive reviews.
For Bartlett, the Australian has appeared in several of his homeland’s biggest programmes such as ‘Neighbours’ and ‘Home and Away’, whilst also featuring in ‘Sex and the City’, and ‘Nashville’.
He has also been nominated for three Emmys.
The first was in 2022 for his showing in ‘The White Lotus’ which he won, before losing out twice in 2023 for his appearances in ‘Welcome to Chippendales’ and ‘The Last of Us’.
