A new road has been planned for south Buckinghamshire, as well as a connected new footpath and cycleway.

Thorney Lane LLP has submitted an application for the new infrastructure for Thorney Business Park on Thorney Lane in North Iver to Buckinghamshire Council.

The first phase of the company’s plans will see the replacement of the existing ‘sub-standard’ access road between Thorney Business Park, where a new data centre is planned, and Thorney Lane South.

Secondly, a new central roundabout will be provided to facilitate access to the wider development, including the station car park.

A third phase will see the creation of another new roundabout at Thorney Lane South to replace the existing junction.

The company’s plans read: “The quality of the road surface varies and there are various changes in level and deviations.

“There is no dedicated footway or cycleway facility between Thorney Lane South and Thorney Business Park, with non-motorised users having to travel along the grass verge or on carriageway. The grass verge is narrow, it quickly slopes upwards into a bund and becomes muddy in winter.”

The applicant, which also proposes new drainage as part of its plans, also said that the existing access road ‘suffers various flooding and drainage problems’, which it claimed were down to various ‘long standing drainage problems’.
