Multiple crews were called after numerous reports of a fire were made to the emergency services.
Just before 9am on Wednesday, September 25, officers from High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Amersham and Aylesbury attended the scene along Coombe Hill in Naphill after a blaze was spotted in the roof of a house.
The firefighters rescued a man from the property and passed him into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
A woman was also rescued from the property, uninjured.
The emergency services used five sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reels, a turntable ladder appliance and a thermal imaging camera.
In all, six appliances and crews, along with three officers attended at the height of the fire, along with members from Thames Valley Police.
The cause of the fire has not been disclosed, whilst 50 per cent of the roof was damaged.
