A flood alert has been issued for parts of Buckinghamshire ahead of more heavy rainfall.
The Environment Agency issued a flood alert for parts of Marlow and Bourne End near the River Thames at 3:39pm today, Wednesday, September 25.
Locals have been warned to be careful on low-lying land and roads near the waterway as river levels continue to rise because of heavy rainfall earlier this week.
The government agency said further rainfall is expected over the next 48 hours, with staff members managing weirs on the Thames between Hurley and Cookham to reduce flood risk.
It comes after parts of the UK saw more than the monthly average rainfall on Monday, September 23, with flash flooding damaging homes and disrupting travel and Buckinghamshire among the worst hit areas according to the Met Office.
The Environment Agency will provide regular updates and continue to monitor the situation as it unfolds.
