Hundreds of people enjoyed the fifth annual ‘Peace in the Park’ event in Chesham.
Held on September 21 at Lowndes Park, over 80 stalls were spotted as those in attendance learned about different cultures whilst enjoying numerous activities and food.
Additionally, attendees enjoyed a complimentary programme of performances on stage which lasted for six hours.
Many of the artists, who have been with the event since its inception five years ago, were local talents, adding a special sense of continuity and community to the celebrations.
The event was sponsored by the Rotary: Chesham Valley and organised by a dedicated team of community volunteers led by Parveiz Aslam MBE.
Mr Aslam MBE said: “This year's event marked a significant milestone, with record-breaking attendance and over 80 stalls filling the park with vibrant displays and activities.
“Peace in the Park is the brainchild of my neighbour, filmmaker Adrian Begon, and myself.
“We introduced the idea to key figures in Chesham at the Elgiva Theatre five years ago and now it has become an annual event of the Rotary Club of Chesham Valley.
“This year’s event was quite spectacular, and I am deeply grateful to the local businesses that help promote the event—such as Bucks Free Press, YourChesham, and Chiltern Voice—and to the volunteers who work tirelessly every year to make it all possible.
“But most importantly, my thanks go to the people who come to support and share in this day of peace and harmony, especially at a time when the world feels so often divided."
