A primary school in Chesham will remain closed due to ‘severe flooding’.
The Thomas Harding Junior School, which is based along Fullers Hill in the town, was shut on September 23 after heavy rain impacted numerous parts of the South East which caused mass disruption.
This included several areas of Buckinghamshire.
Parents were notified on the Monday that the school would not be reopened on the Tuesday.
A brief statement read: “Our roof is now secure, but significant water damage inside means that the site is still unsafe for children at this time.”
Their website also confirms that they will remain closed, but no definitive time frame has been given for when they will reopen.
Many businesses, schools and shops have been impacted by the heavy rain, with some having to close temporarily.
This is not the first time this year that adverse weather has caused mayhem in the county, with areas such as Chalfont St Peter, Wendover, Aylesbury and Amersham being some of the worst affected areas back in February.
Most notably in Chalfont, as many residents and restaurant owners in the village suffered internal flooding mixed with drain blockages.
