A large branch fell onto a phone line in High Wycombe this morning after a night of heavy rain caused flooding disruption across the county.
It comes after the Met Office issued an amber weather warning for the region today, Monday, September 23, cautioning locals of up to 120mm of rain expected to fall in parts of the UK.
Resulting chaos has included cars becoming stranded underneath a railway bridge in Amersham, a Wycombe pub being forced to close and part of a tree falling onto a telephone wire on Beech Road, on the outskirts of Wycombe near Loudwater.
Photos show police at the scene near Kingsmead Road and a red Mini Cooper that appears to have just dodged being damaged by the large branch.
A spokesperson for Buckinghamshire Council's highways arm said they had received "a high volume of flood related calls" and put several road closures in place, including on Warrendene Road in Hughenden.
They also urged drivers "not to drive unless you have to" and, if unavoidable, to "take great care & do not try to drive through flood water".
