A man has been charged with rape and sexual assault after a series of ‘horrific attacks’ on a young boy in Milton Keynes.

Jonathan Lloyd, 47, of Newton Road, Hainford, Norwich, has been found guilty of two counts of rape of a male and one count of sexual assault by touching by a unanimous jury verdict after a nine-day trial at Reading Crown Court.

Lloyd raped a male teenager in October 2004, before sexually assaulting the same victim, then in his twenties, several years later, between 2011 and 2012.

The young man reported the offences to Thames Valley Police in 2020 and, following a lengthy police investigation, the 47-year-old was charged on April 28, 2022.

He was remanded in custody after the court appearance on Thursday, September 19, and will be sentenced in Reading on December 5.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Hollie Cromarty, of the Milton Keynes Criminal Investigation Department, said Lloyd had “targeted his victim” and carried out “horrific sexual attacks” on him.

Adding: “It took the victim a very long time to come to terms with what Lloyd did to him, and I commend his bravery in having the courage to report this to the police.

“I am pleased that the jury unanimously convicted Lloyd of these abhorrent offences, and he will be sentenced in due course.

“We are absolutely dedicated to investigating sexual crimes, and no matter what the passage of time, we will always listen to victims and seek to bring offenders to justice.

“Lloyd would have felt he had got away with these crimes, but thanks to the victim’s bravery, we have brought him to account for what he has done.”
