A care home resident has recently celebrated her 100th birthday in style.
Frances, who lives at the Hempton Field Care Home, was joined by staff, and friends as they paid a special visit to the steam train at The Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway.
On the trip, the centenarian received afternoon tea and was treated to a specially decorated table with cards and balloons to mark the occasion.
The 100-year-old also shared a moment in history with the steam train, as the engine celebrated its’ century year.
Having grown up in the area, Frances used to ride the train regularly and could hear it everywhere she went on her travels.
She asked the team at Hempton for one more ride for her birthday.
Jocelyn Walang, General Manager of Barchester Hempton Field added: “We’re delighted to be celebrating a truly remarkable woman as she reaches this amazing milestone.
“Frances is such a popular resident who always has an interesting tale to tell, and we look forward to hearing many more as she breaks into her next century.”
Hempton Field care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals.
“Hempton provides residential & nursing care, for residents from respite care to long-term stays.”
