A solar farm project is seeking public feedback on its updated plans.

Rosefield Solar Farm, located between Buckingham and Aylesbury, has published revised proposals for an eight-week consultation period, starting September 18.

This is the second stage of public consultation for the solar farm, which includes battery storage.

The updates come after considering community and stakeholder feedback, ongoing technical work, and early environmental assessments.

The revised plan includes further design of offsets from homes and villages, with new planting proposals.

The area proposed for solar panels has been reduced, with more than 60 per cent of the site now intended for mitigation, ecological enhancement, or agricultural use.

A new 1.9km permissive footpath is also part of the updated proposal, along with a community benefit fund providing £400 per megawatt of installed capacity for community projects.

The consultation period ends on November 14, 2024, and feedback will be used to refine proposals before submitting a Development Consent Order (DCO) application.

Rosefield Solar Farm is expected to provide enough clean, secure energy to power more than 57,000 homes annually.

EDF Renewables UK’s director of storage, solar, and private wire, Matthew Boulton, said: "Community input has already helped to inform our plans for Rosefield and will continue to play a very important part in helping us refine our proposals before we submit our DCO application.

"I encourage everyone to get in touch, meet with us, and share their views during the consultation."

The public is invited to a series of exhibitions and to meet the Rosefield team to share their feedback, at the following locations:

  • Calvert Green Village Hall and Brickworx Bar on Thursday, October 3 between 2pm and 6pm.
