A driver is expected to be faced with ‘points and fines’ after they were caught doing nearly 100mph.

In the evening of Monday, September 16, officers from Thames Valley Police were patrolling the Buckinghamshire stretch of the M25 when they noticed a vehicle going at some speed.

It was then revealed that the motorist in question had clock a speed of 95mph near the ‘Give Peas A Chance’ viaduct near Chalfont St Peter.

In a very brief statement that was shared on Facebook, an officer from Thames Valley Police said: “Our unmarked patrol recorded a motorist travelling at 95mph on the M25 between the gantry speed cameras under the Give Peas A Chance (Chalfont) Viaduct last night [September 16].

“This is unacceptable.

“The driver had also been drinking but was below the limit.

"However, when combined with the speed it could have resulted in a collision with alcohol slowing reactions.

“It’s not worth the risk

“The driver was reported and now faces points and fines for this selfish behaviour.”
