A Gerrards Cross man will build a seven-bedroom mansion with a cinema in place of his existing home if his plans are approved.
Lalith Kankanala has asked Buckinghamshire Council for permission to knock down ‘Wood End’, the existing four-bedroom property he owns at the northern end of Packhorse Road.
Floorplans for the new-build he wants to replace it with show a lobby, a living room, large kitchen with a spice room, a prayer room, eight bathrooms, a playroom and a cinema on the top floor.
Connected to the main house will be a replacement garage with space for two cars, with one of the seven bedrooms and an additional kitchen located above it.
Plans state that the large new three-storey home has been designed ‘in respect’ of neighbours’ views and sunlight.
A design statement says that the height of the eaves of the proposed mansion are ‘fairly level’ with neighbouring properties and that the house will be in line with other properties on Packhorse Road.
The statement says that the new house will serve as the ‘principal residence’ for Mr Kankanala and his family.
One section of the document reads: “The family wants a traditional modern home which they can enjoy and have enough room for entertaining friends and family.
“This is to be their forever home they have always wished for, with significant kerb appeal.”
