An actor has revealed how Amersham played a huge part in his most recent film.

Charles Brewer, who has worked with several big names such as Anthony Hopkins in  'One Life' and Colin Firth’s in 'Empire of Light', had his flick screened at a recent horror film festival in the US.

Taking place in Massachusetts, the Severed Limbs Film Festival screened 'Trapped in Time' which focuses on a young woman call. who visits the Amersham Heritage Fair for a fun day out.

Charles' character warns Claire that she needs to return to her own time while she still can, but she ignores him to enjoy the fair – until she meets his gang of hoodlums waiting for her in the Amersham churchyard.

The 71-year-old performer plays a Victorian gentleman on the famous 1930s restored Tube travelling to Amersham.

Charles explains: “We wanted to shoot our micro horror somewhere with a real atmosphere, and the Heritage Day has a great Victorian feel, so you could believe our characters have gone back in time when you see them at the fair.”

The short was shot on a micro budget by horror writer/producer Nina Romain, in found footage style similar to 90s classic 'Blair Witch', in one day at the Amersham Heritage Day in 2023 with a small cast of actors playing Victorian thugs.

Charles adds: “As Claire looks around the fair, she realises that she hasn’t just gone for a fun day out, she’s been trapped in the past.

"My character’s the Victorian gang leader and when they confront her within the churchyard, you realise things are going to go badly for her.”

“It’s also great news that “Trapped in Time” has been selected for the Severed Limbs Festival Massachusetts - it’s nice to see the whole crew and cast's hard work recognised.”
