A £20,000 goal has been set to try and help High Wycombe get a new temple for its Hindu community.

The town’s current place of worship, Shri Meenatchi Amman, sits on Abercromby Avenue following its official unveiling in 2012, but discussions are in motion for upgrades and improvements.

A section of the GoFundMe page reads: “We’re raising funds to build a new, larger temple that will not only continue to serve as a place of worship but also as a community space where people of all ages can come together.

“Your donation will go directly towards creating a place where we can celebrate festivals as a community, pass on cultural traditions, and teach skills that are not available in the UK curriculum.

“Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to realising this vision.

“Your generosity will help us empower both the young and old in our community, ensuring that these important cultural values and skills thrive for years to come.”

The temple has played an integral part in the Hindu community since its opening 12 years ago through its charitable work.

It has provided support to countries such as Sri Lanka and India, whilst also aiding people in England.

At the time of writing, £291 has been raised for its £20,000 goal.
