Tim Burton's highly-anticipated follow-up to the 1988 horror comedy Beetlejuice is in cinemas now - and you might just recognise some of the filming locations.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - an eye-winking sequel name that hints at a trilogy - was released in the UK yesterday, Friday, September 6, and has also garnered critical acclaim for its madcap, nostalgia-strewn follow-up to its family-favourite forbearer.

If you're not distracted by its star-studded cast - which includes Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara reprising their original roles alongside Jenna Ortega of Netflix's Wednesday - you might spot a familiar landmark or two in the background of some scenes.

The production shot at a number of locations across England and the US, including West Wycombe Park, near High Wycombe - which, alongside an abandoned boarding school in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, made up its on-location trips while filming at Leavesden Studios last year.

A funeral scene, in particular, saw the box office hit make full use of the moody ambience of the National Trust-owned estate, an atmosphere no doubt bolstered by its proximity to the infamous Hellfire Caves on Church Lane.

The new film follows three generations of the Deetz family as they return home to the fictional town of Winter River after an unexpected family tragedy, and find themselves once again at the mercy of the zany demon Beetlejuice, and also stars Willem Dafoe, Justin Theroux and Danny DeVito.

West Wycombe Park has appeared in a number of other film and TV productions over the years, including Bridget Jones' Diary, Cranford, Sense and Sensibility, X-Men, Howard's End, Downton Abbey and Midsomer Murders. Are you planning to go see it on the big screen?
