A High Wycombe-based food company has decided to give a foodbank a double donation.

RH Amar, which is based along Turnpike Road in the town, has given the Aylesbury Foodbank nearly 100kg of items alongside a cheque for £7,800.

This is to support the work the foodbank does helping those locally.

RH Amar National Account Manager, Andy Rudol, has been a longtime supporter of Aylesbury Food Bank and chose to nominate it for RH Amar’s colleague charity initiative – which sees RHA employees nominate a charity of their choice each year to receive a donation from the company.

James Amar, RH Amar Strategy & CSR Director, said: “Andy has personally championed Aylesbury Foodbank for many years and as a result we have supported it with both food and charity donations.

“It was wonderful for Andy to be able to present our charity donation alongside a substantial food donation, further helping to support the vital work Aylesbury Foodbank does in our community.”

Aylesbury Foodbank Trustee, Tim Dixon, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from local business, RH Amar, and their generous donations.

“This double contribution will make a significant impact on our ability to assist those in need.”

Heather-Joy Garrett, Operations Manager Aylesbury Foodbank, added: "Aylesbury Foodbank fed over 13,000 people in the year 2023/2024 and the donations from RH Amar have helped to increase our donations and reduce our purchasing costs, making us very grateful for their continued support."

RH Amar donates 10 per cent of its profits to charity each year, with colleague charity nominations forming part of the wider commitment which has seen over £2 million given to good causes since 2013.

Earlier this year, the family-owned food business pledged to divert more food (which cannot be sold) to organisations like food banks, as part of its promise to reduce its food waste by 50 per cent by 2030.

RH Amar is a third-generation family-run business based on the Cressex Estate in High Wycombe.

It provides sales, marketing and technical support to successfully grow food brands across the UK market.  Its brand portfolio includes some of the UK’s best-loved food brands such as Crespo, Del Monte, Mutti, Kikkoman and Ella’s Kitchen alongside smaller specialist brands.

The company also has three of its own brands – Camp Coffee, Cooks&Co and Mary Berry’s Dressings.
