A new café is set to be built in Black Park Country Park, Buckinghamshire Council has announced.
Proposals for the new facility in the popular park in south Bucks park near Stoke Poges and Slough have been given planning permission.
The new café comes with indoor seating, an outside terrace, an external sales point for takeaway snacks and drinks, and improved toilet facilities.
It has been self-financed by Buckinghamshire Country Parks and will ‘enhance’ the park and improve facilities for visitors, the council said.
Clive Harriss, the council’s cabinet member for culture and leisure, said: “I am delighted that we have the go ahead for the new facilities at Black Park Country Park.”
The councillor claimed the indoor café near the car park would be a ‘welcome addition’ to the park and give visitors more options for catering in all weathers.
He said: “In addition, the upgrades to the surrounding area and facilities will help to make the park even more enjoyable for everyone.
“Visitors to the park may notice some work starting this week, and we aim to open the new facilities in spring 2025.”
The new café will serve a variety of hot and cold drinks, meals and snacks, with catering provided by the park’s current catering company, San Remo, in addition to the existing Lakeside Café at the site.
Work on the café will start this week with some tree removal taking place, followed by the removal of the current catering kiosk later in the month.
