A Buckinghamshire hospital is holding an open day which includes behind-the-scenes tours and a range of activities.

Stoke Mandeville Hospital is set to hold the open day on Saturday, September 14 from 10am to 2pm.

The hospital's annual general meeting will also take place 45 minutes before the open day starts at 9.15pm.

Also among the activities on the day are taster sessions, a host of stalls from charities and volunteer services as well as career talks from universities and the NHS.

A spokesperson for the hospital said: “Come along to our open day and annual general meeting at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

“Meet clinical teams and take part in behind-the-scenes hospital tours.

“You can also participate in a Makaton taster session or learn about dopamine-inducing strategies.

“We also have lots of stalls from charities, volunteer services and many universities as part of the careers fair.

“Secondary school students can also come along on the day to attend careers talks about work experience and volunteering opportunities in the NHS.

“Enjoy live entertainment and a range of food and drink outlets.”

The hospital recently opened a state-of-the-art Interventional Radiology Suite, one of only two in the country.

The suite's specialist equipment enables doctors to carry out diagnoses, treatments, surgeries, and CT scans.
