Pupils across the town have done immensely well after today August 22, GSCE Results Day 2024, it was revealed that they achieved an exceptional number of grades.
John Hampden Grammar School, High Wycombe is celebrating another set off outstanding GCSE results. Grades are up on last year and up on our 2019 results as well. 22% of results are grade 9 and 67% are grades 9-7.
Special mention has to go to our History department with exceptional results of 54% grade 9 and 79% grades 9-8. 15 students have straight Grade 8s and 9s, including 3 students with straight Grade 9s. Miss Hartley, Headteacher, praised the hardwork and dedication of the teachers who have supported the students through 5 tumultuous years of education.
“The boys started Y7 in the Covid year but they’ve overcome all those challenges and worked hard to do their best. A big thank you has to go to our very supportive parents.”
As results return fully to the marking standards of the pre-Covid years – Pipers Corner School are delighted to congratulate their Year 11 students whose achievements this summer have considerably outshone pre-Covid GCSE results in 2019 and also those of 2023.
Over half of all GCSEs achieved the highest 9-7 (A** to A) grades with almost 20% of results achieving the elusive Grade 9s. In subjects such as English, almost three-quarters of students in the Year group achieved a Grade 9-7, including those from the lowest sets - with 87% of students in Geography, 85% in Art and Design and 79% in History also achieving these top grades.
Students at exceptional grammar, Beaconsfield High School, are celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results today, making even more progress on last year’s show stopping results. A staggering 26% of grades were Level 9, with over 50% Level 8 and 9, and 89% of all results being Level 6 and above. A number of students also achieved 8 to 11 Level 9s.
Congratulations go to Nyah, the highest performer in the country in OCR’s GCSE Biology (A – Gateway Science), what an incredible achievement!
