Best-selling authors and TV detectives will be converging on Gerrards Cross for the Chiltern Kills 2024 crime and thriller writing festival on Saturday October 5, from 9am -11pm.

Sir Ian Rankin of Rebus fame, storytelling genius Jeffrey Archer, and Peter James of the Roy Grace book and ITV series will be joined by TV crime busters Dempsey and Makepeace and the cast of The Bill at the historic Colston Hall at East Common in Gerrards Cross.

It’s second year of Chiltern Kills with all ticket sales again going to the Centrepoint charity to combat youth homelessness. Sir Ian Rankin said: "Centrepoint is a very special charity whose work is - sadly - more necessary than ever. I’m pleased to be able to support them."

Each ticket costs £40 via www.ChilternKills.com or for a little more, you can book a one-to-one consultation with a literary agent.

Jeffrey Archer said: “I’m looking forward to meeting everyone at Chiltern Kills crime and thriller writing festival in Gerrards Cross on 5th October - especially with all tickets sold in aid of the Centrepoint charity. I’ve supported Centrepoint since the day they were founded and am a great admirer of the amazing work they do.”

Peter James said:  “I’m hugely looking forward to my event at Chiltern Kills - and it is so wonderful that they are supporting Centrepoint, a brilliant charity that does so much to combat youth homelessness - and all the hopelessness and despair that goes with it.”

There will be about 60 top authors on the Poirot and Marple stages, including former Breakfast TV star Louise Minchin, Robert Thorogood the creator of Death In Paradise, Harriet Tyce, Nadine Matheson and Imran Mahmood.

Chiltern Kills founders, authors Paul Waters and Tony Kent said: “What makes Chiltern Kills special is that authors. including our patron Frederick Forsyth, and fans all mingle together off-stage, in our luxury food village, our WhoDunHim Inn – where famous authors will be pulling pints, and at our famous Murder A Song karaoke at the end of the day.”

Chiltern Kills is supported by businesses like Sacla UK, Windsor and Eton brewery, Vaaroom Motorhome Hire, Ewing Law, Quantaco. Oakwood Estates and the Gerrards Cross Bookshop. Every visitor gets a free tote bag filled with festival goodies.

Last year visitors to Chiltern Kills came from as far away as Scotland, Ireland, Devon, Yorkshire, Kent, Manchester and Birmingham. One visitor said: “I cannot even describe what a joyous day I had at Chiltern Kills. The vibe was amazing, the choice of food fabulous, drinks were flowing and author panels exceptional!”
