Buckinghamshire’s stretch of the M40 was cordoned off earlier this morning following a collision between a car and a lorry.
In the early hours of Tuesday, August 20, motorists were forced to wait roughly one hour after the accident between J5 at Stokenchurch and J4 at High Wycombe.
Police and National Highway traffic officers attended the scene, in which they closed Lanes 1 and 2 of the motorway.
The queue of traffic lasted for nearly five miles.
However, by 7:30 am, all lanes had reopened, and traffic flow had resumed normal.
The crash is said to have happened around 6am today.
We have contacted Thames Valley Police for more information.
