Councillors from Buckinghamshire have urged students picking up A-Level results across the country to remember they are ‘only one measure of success’.
Anita Cramner, cabinet member for education and children’s services at the local authority, congratulated sixth form and college students on their A-Level, BTECs and NVQs today, August 15.
She said: “We wish students across the country the best of luck with their results today. We know they have been working hard in their studies and will be looking forward to the next stage of their lives.”
Adding: “It is important to recognise that there may be some young people who may be disappointed with their results or are not sure what to do next. We would encourage them to speak to their school and also take a look at some of the support and advice that is available.”
Joseph Baum, deputy cabinet member for skills at Bucks Council said: “Whilst we recognise the importance of today in our young people's lives, exam results are only one measure of success and we hope that whatever paths students take, they are full of opportunity.”
Southeast England was the best-performing region in the UK for top grades this year, with 30.8 per cent of students in the region achieving A and A*s – a rise of 0.5 per cent from 2023.
