A number of ash trees that could be felled are in this week’s roundup of planning applications and decisions at Buckinghamshire Council.
You can view each one by going to the council’s planning website and searching for the application number provided.
Ash trees (24/06469/TPO)
A number of ash trees suffering dieback along Treadaway Hill can be felled, Buckinghamshire council has agreed.
Property developer Balfour Beaty asked for permission to fell the trees for safety reasons.
Buckinghamshire Council tree officers agreed, saying that the removal of the ashes to manage risk would be acceptable due to their proximity to the road. The officers also say the developer had consulted with the Forestry Commission, which said the work didn’t need a felling licence.
Boarding school tree (24/06494/CTREE)
A boarding school is allowed to fell an ash tree as it is suffering dieback and is leaning over a substation.
Wycombe Abbey school on Frances Dove Way applied for permission to fell the ash tree in June this year. Buckinghamshire Council replied that it had decided not to apply a tree preservation order, meaning the work can go ahead.
But the work must be carried out within two years – and the school must tell the council of any further work it plans.
Office conversion (24/06398/PNPCR)
Office buildings on Buckingham Place can only be converted into seven flats once planning officers have seen noise control measures, Buckinghamshire Council has said.
Property developer Life Build Solutions asked for confirmation that it had prior approval to convert 2 Buckingham Place into flats.
Under planning law this means that it doesn’t need full planning permission. But the council still has to assess issues such as the development’s impact on traffic, and whether residents would have acceptable living conditions
Council planning said developers would need to submit their plans for noise insulation before prior approval could be granted.
Two houses (24/06328/OUT)
Two houses can be built at the end of a cul-de-sac in Micklefield, council planning officers have agreed.
The houses are planned on Buckingham Drive in High Wycombe. A planning statement by planning consultant Inlgeton Wood says the site previously housed a row of garages that have since been demolished.
Architects drawings suggest each house will have two storeys. The application was for ‘outline’ planning permission only. This means the development has been approved in principle but exact details regarding the siting, layout and appearance will need to be approved at a later date.
But Ingleton Wood says the plans submitted show how the houses ‘could be constructed of a design sympathetic to the surrounding area without resulting in overlooking or loss of neighbour amenity’.
