An inquest into how a couple from Ilford died along the Buckinghamshire stretch of the M40 is set to take place this week.
Jagdish Singh-Bhogal, 70, and Jaswinder Kaur Bhogal, 68, both died in a crash involving eight cars on January 22, 2023.
Ten other people also suffered minor injuries in the incident which happened between Junction 5 Stokenchurch and Junction 4 Handy Cross, High Wycombe.
A pre-inquest review into the deaths opened on August 2 2023, where Senior Coroner Crispin Butler confirmed there had been no homicide arrests for the death of Mr and Mrs Bhogal.
Another pre-inquest review was held on May 16 this year, which involved the couple’s son, Indy Bhogal, via the video platform, Zoom.
Mr Butler said a forensic investigation report had been completed at the end of March, but was still with the CPS (the Crime Prosecution Service).
The inquest has remained open and has been adjourned to a further pre-inquest review, either to announce a 'suspension or a development of the investigation to any prosecution.'
This will take place on Thursday, August 15 at Beaconsfield Coroner's Court, beginning at 12.50pm.
