A spokesperson for Greggs says more information about a new branch in Chalfont St Peter will ‘be shared in due course’.
The Free Press reported last week that, alongside a new Tesco Express store, villagers in Chalfont St Peter could expect a new sausage roll-hotspot to pop up on their doorstep before the end of the year.
Plans submitted to Buckinghamshire Council by the popular bakery corporation laid out a new Greggs shopfront and signage design as well as mock-ups of how extract grilles and air conditioning units could be incorporated into 1 Bishops House on Market Place.
The proposals received no objections from the village parish council following a consideration last week and 1 Bishops House is listed as ‘under offer’ under agents Brasier Freeth on RightMove, who describe it as a “prime retail location” in the centre of Chalfont St Peter.
And though the Greggs spokesperson was noncommittal – stating that the brand is “always looking into new shop locations and unable to confirm anything at the moment” – they added that “information would be shared in due course”.
While nothing is set in stone, planning documents suggest that the bakery’s famous logo could be strung up next to the soon-to-be Tesco as soon as next month. Watch this space!
