August is underway and so is Buckinghamshire Council’s county-wide roadworks schedule. Check below to see if your route will be disrupted by repair and improvement projects this week.

A sunnier spell means the council’s attention has turned from reactive road repairs to larger planned schemes – something that’s undeniably good in the long term but could have consequences for your rush hour commute.

Here are all the works – ongoing or just getting started – planned for the week beginning August 5. As always, dates are subject to change depending on availability of materials and unforeseen circumstances.

 Conventional Resurfacing Works

Berkhampstead Road, Chesham (Thursday 25 July to Monday 12 August): Conventional resurfacing works using a road closure in operation 8pm to 6am.

Plane and Patch Works

Hedgerley Lane & Lakes Lane, Beaconsfield (Monday 5 August to Monday 12 August): Plane and Patch works using a road closure in operation 7am to 7pm.

Hambleden Surface Dressing Remedial Works (Monday 5 August to Friday 9 August): Carriageway patching and resurfacing of village roads using a road closure in operation 7am to 7pm.

Camborne Avenue, Aylesbury (Monday 5 to Saturday 24 August): Carriageway resurfacing and road safety improvement works using multi-way lights, 24/7 road closure from 9 to 11 August, road closure from 19 to 24 August 8pm – 6am.

Traffic Calming Works

Castlefields, High Wycombe (Monday 29 July to Friday 6 December): Traffic Calming works using a Road Closure in operation Monday to Friday between 7:30am to 5:30pm and Saturday 8am to 4pm.

The works will be carried out in the follow phases:

•            Rutland Avenue 28/10/2024 to 01/11/2024 (Albion Road to Laburnum Road)

Capital Maintenance Road Lining Works

A355 Amersham to Beaconsfield (Friday 2 August to Friday 16 August): Road lining works using a road closure traffic management in place 6pm to 6am.

B4032 High Street Stewkley (Monday 29 July to Monday 12 August): Road lining works using a road closure traffic management in place 6pm to 6am.

B488 Upper Icknield Way & Tring Road (Tuesday 30 July to Thursday 15 August): Road lining works using a road closure traffic management in place 6pm to 7:30am.

Road Safety Footway Improvement Works

Ellen Road, Aylesbury (Monday 22 July to Friday 30 August): Footway improvement works using phased footway closures and stop and go traffic management in place 8am to 6pm.

A355 Amersham Road, Beaconsfield ( Wednesday 17 July – Friday 16 August) - Footway improvement works:

17 July to 26 July – Works to be undertaken using road narrows and localised traffic management in place 8am - 6pm.

29 July to 17 August – Works to be undertaken using two-way traffic lights and day time closures on Ledborough lane and Longbottom Lane in place 8am - 6pm.

Drainage Works

Five Points Roundabout (Wood Lane) (Monday 15 July to Friday 11 October): Drainage Improvement works using a 24/7 road closure.

Ivinghoe Freight Zone Phase 2

A418 Aylesbury Road, Wingrave (Monday 5 August to Wednesday 7 August): Sign installation works using two-way signals in operation between 9:30am – 3pm.
