Over £10,000 has been raised in memory of a 25-year-old woman from Chesham who was ‘loved by thousands of people’ after her sudden death.

Paige Hall died in the early hours of Tuesday, July 23, according to a Facebook post by mum Jeanette Steward last week.

The 25-year-old mother-of-one was best known for creating the ‘Acts of Kindness, Chiltern and Surrounding’ Facebook page which has 19,000 members and was founded five years ago to put locals in touch with others who could lend or donate items and offer services and odd jobs.

She was also an active charity worker, helping to raise money for a number of local non-profits and providing children in hospital with Easter Eggs and Christmas gifts.

As may be expected, the outpouring of sadness and solidarity after her death has been overwhelming – with her loved ones and those she helped without ever meeting them all pitching in to raise £10,000 – and counting – for her son Jenson.

The GoFundMe campaign to support Paige’s son, whose “Mummy was his world”, was set up by friends Tracey Withero and Lauren Osbourne on Friday to “lift some of the financial burden” from her family’s shoulders and “help them focus on the important things”.

Writing on the fundraising page, Tracey described Paige as a “beautiful, kind, caring young lady” who “gave so much of her own time to helping those in need” as well as “everyone and anyone she possibly could, too many to list”.

The 25-year-old’s friends, family and hundreds of people whose lives she touched gathered on Prestwood Common to release lanterns into the sky in a memorial ceremony on Sunday, July 28.

Tracey said it was a “lovely” opportunity for remembrance, with “so many people thinking, talking and reminiscing about Paige”.

“The sky was lit up with so many lanterns and personal messages for her. She was loved by so many.”

Confirming her daughter’s death on Facebook last Thursday, Jeanette wrote: “Heartbroken is an understatement. But I promise you this my darling, sweet, beautiful, caring daughter Paige, I will do my very best always until the day I die to be a great mummy/nanny to your amazing little boy.

“He will always be safe with us, and I will never ever let him forget you and just how amazing you were in every way.

“Life will never be the same without you in it.”
